Overlooking nearby Lake Hibara and the Bandai Asahi National Park, this lakeside resort is famed for its natural surroundings. Newly renovated and opened in late 2015, Urabandai Lake Resort comprises a luxurious wing and a soothing onsen with water piped in from the Nekoma Hot Springs (day trip services available). Japanese and French restaurants, a cafe, an art gallery, retail outlets and day spa are some of the resort’s other offerings. Overlooking Mt. Bandai, one of Japan’s top 100 mountains, Lake Ebara spreads underneath. Goshikinuma, which is famous for weaving various colours every time you see it, is a 3-minute walk away. Urabandai is part of the Bandai-Asahi National Park and its spectacular alpine scenery attracts all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts including hikers, climbers, anglers, skiers and snowboarders. Urabandai has a humid climate with warm summers and cold winters.
