Port Stephens is the undisputed dolphin capital of Australia with between 150 and 200 resident dolphins calling the local waters home.

Before You Go

Planning a holiday at one of your Club Wyndham resorts? Keep informed of special check-in details, parking availability, plus latest resort updates and developments.

Resort update: Ramada Resort by Wyndham Shoal Bay will be undergoing a full refurbishment of our outdoor pool area from the 30th June 2022 – 7th August 2022. An Indoor Pool refurbishment will also take place from 8th August 2022 – 9th September 2022. This will include resurfacing and retiling of the pool areas, and works will be carried out in these areas between the times of 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. During these hours we anticipate there may be periods of significant noise disturbance experienced.

Please be aware that, in New South Wales, there are some government restrictions on how far you can travel or where you can go if you are not fully vaccinated. You may therefore be asked about your vaccination status upon arrival at the resort and at local tourist attractions, restaurants, bars, cafes and other establishments.


CRITICAL INFORMATION – MUST READ: Effective from Monday 12th July 2021, all owners/guests checking into CWSP Properties MUST present photo ID in the form of a passport or driver’s license upon check-in. The ID must match the reservation in the Hotel’s PMS (Property Management System) and credit card provided. Guest name MUST be added to the reservation at time of booking, or prior to check-in. Only the Owner Services Team can add or amend a guest name. If owners call a resort to ask for a change to guest name, they will be redirected to Owner Services.

**RESORT CLEANING**The Resort is undertaking a cleaning and chlorination program for all pools and spas every second Monday evening, these areas will be closed from 5:00pm on those evenings.**

**LIVE ENTERTAINMENT: Please note that several Food & Beverage outlets around the property are privately owned & operated. Live entertainment is provided on most weekends, and occasional week days. The Country Club Hotel and Whitesands Conference Centre are open until 3.30am. Please be aware that some noise may carry to apartments during these times.**

  • Reception operates 24 hours, seven days a week.
  • A $1 credit card imprint or $250 cash deposit is required upon check-in.
  • Rooms have varying views of the resort and the surrounding areas.
  • Balcony sizes across most room types will vary. Some rooms do not have balconies. Views will also vary.
  • Apartment windows:
    • 1-Bedroom – No window in bedroom
    • 1-Bedroom Deluxe – No window in bedroom
    • 1-Bedroom Grand – No window in bedroom
    • 2-Bedroom – No window in either bedroom
    • 2-Bedroom Deluxe + 1 Bath – Window in each bedroom
    • 2-Bedroom Deluxe + 2 Bath – Window in the main bedroom only

  • Studio apartments are located in 2 story block. There are 18 stairs to level 2 (no lift). Ground floor apartments can be requested but not guaranteed. There is ramp access to top floor via adjoining building. Please check with Reception upon check-in.
  • Select 1-Bedroom Deluxe apartments have a convection microwave (not a full oven). A room with an oven can be requested, however this cannot be guaranteed.
  • 1-Bedroom and 1-Bedroom Deluxe Apartments: Most of these apartments have shower over bath. Rooms can be requested, however cannot be guaranteed.
  • 2 Bedroom Standard Apartment: The standard 2 bedroom apartment is compact in size, and while it can sleep up to 6 people, for your comfort, it is more suited to 4 people.
  • The 2-Bedroom Deluxe apartment (1 Bath) is located towards the front of the resort in the ‘Heritage Building’ and has more luxurious furnishings than a standard apartment. 2-Bedroom Deluxe apartment has 1 bathroom and no balcony.
  • The indoor heated pool area is open daily as follows: 10am-4pm Everyone welcome. 7am-10am and 4-7pm Adults Only. The outdoor pool is available to everyone at all times.
  • Club Wyndham Shoal Bay is a non-smoking resort. Smoking is permitted in the designated areas only. Fines may apply.
  • Communal laundry for rooms without facilities, free of charge for all guests.
  • Shoal Bay Health Centre – Please note that guests must be 18 years or older to use the Health Centre facilities.
  • Please note that Lattouf Day Spa has closed. But there is a new Day Spa OPEN within the resort called Sirene Spa. Please see reception for further details during your stay, if required.
  • This resort holds Owner Events throughout the year, speak with your resort reception staff for times when checking in.

Guest Bookings: Please keep in mind that as the Owner you are responsible for your Guest’s complying with Club guidelines and regulations, your Guest’s behavior whilst staying at the resort, and any outstanding charges resulting from Guest’s usage at the resort.

Credit Card fees: From 1 September 2016 payments made by credit card for any charges incurred during your stay at a Club Wyndham resort will incur a Credit Card Service Fee of 0.9% in addition to the total amount payable.

Pets: Pets are not allowed at most Club Wyndham or Ramada by Wyndham properties.  Exceptions apply in the case of hearing, mobility and/or vision impaired guests, please advise at time of booking if this applies, or those staying in dog friendly designated units at designated resorts see here for more information.

Wi-Fi is available at most resorts however it may incur additional charges. We recommend contacting the individual resort reception to find out more.

Fingal Bay

A charming village surrounded by the Tomaree National Park. Fingal Bay Beach is a stunning beach perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Quad Bike Tour

Get your heart racing with a thrilling ride on the back of a quad bike as part of a guided quad biking tour. Ride on quad bikes from the bush to the beach, traversing magnificent sand dunes and learning about Aboriginal culture in the Worimi Conservation Lands.

No experience necessary; and children, aged seven to 13 years old, are welcome to share in the quad bike experience by riding the sand dunes safely on one of Sand Dunes Adventures 90cc Quads.

Sandboarding

Sand Dune Safaris offer a number of Adventure Tours on the largest moving sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere! Ride in the comfortable 21 seat 4WD Coaster Bus or seven seat Land Cruiser.

The Sand Boarding Adventure runs every weekend and during school holidays for the ultimate in thrills! On our shuttle tour you will travel across the sand hills, driving up and down some very large dunes, to the Sandboarding area (shade and chairs provided). The tours are designed for the whole family and are suitable for all ages!

The dune features many different sized slopes to suit all ages. Awesome family fun! They provide boards, and one of the friendly instructors will instruct on the safe use of the boards in both sitting down and stand up styles.

The landscape is magnificent, so don’t forget your camera. It operates a shuttle bus service every 15-20 minutes, so stay and play as long as you like, and simply hop on the next bus when you are finished!

Fighter World

Explore the proud history of fighter aircraft operations in the Royal Australian Air Force at Fighter World. Located adjacent to the entrance to RAAF Base Williamtown at Newcastle Airport, Fighter World is a totally ‘hands on’ experience. Exhibited in two hangars, visitors can walk-around, touch and look into the cockpits of such famous aircraft as the Mirage III, the Avon Sabre, the Gloster Meteor, the first Vampire jet built in Australia and new in 2013 the mighty F-111. There is a Russian designed MiG-21 jet fighter, Hawker Hunter, WWII Spitfire replica, a Messerschmitt replica and much more.

Fighter World also offers the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a Mirage interceptor and Macchi jet trainer and experience first-hand what it’s like to be one of Australia’s ‘Top Gun’ pilots in today’s hi-tech world.

Toboggan Hill Park

Toboggan Hill Park is set amongst natural bushland, just off Salamander Way at Nelson Bay, and offers a variety of exciting activities for all ages and abilities. The Park’s main attraction is a one kilometre toboggan track which gently weaves through wildflowers and native landscape. The park also offers a bushland mini golf course, an indoor Rock Climbing wall, ‘hot’ Ice Skating Rink, Splash-Down water play, plaster painting, interpretive tractor/train ride, huge outdoor maze, jumping castle, remote controlled activities and arcade games.
