Overview

Nestled in the scenic Colorado Rocky Mountains, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Continental Divide and Rocky Mountain National Park, it is easy to see why Granby is known as “The Heart of Something Grand.” This area is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast and is located 7,935 feet above sea level. Every room overlooks the Craig Stadler designed Grand Elk Golf Club, and the clubhouse and first tee are adjacent to the resort. Discounted green fees, rental clubs and 30 day advanced reservations have been negotiated with the course, so take full advantage of this exclusive WorldMark owner offer. Three National Forests – perfect for hiking, biking or horseback riding – and fly fishing galore are right on your doorstep, including Gold Metal waters of the Colorado River. The resort towns of Grand Lake and Winter Park offer abundant summer and winter outdoor activities for everyone. With the onset of winter, you’ll find skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, dog sledding, and snowshoeing to keep you busy. And, after a long day of activity, what could be better than a visit to Hot Sulphur Springs to let Mother Nature steam your aches away.

The design of WorldMark Granby – Rocky Mountain Preserve integrates the rugged natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains with the western flare of a historical mining town. You’ll feel right at home in these comfortable units with the richness and flair of “rustic elegance.” Between Granby and Kremmling this stretch of road is part of the Colorado River Headwaters Scenic and Historic Byway. Enjoy a varied landscape of canyons, mountains and pasture and make a stop along the way at the Grand Country Museum in Sulphur Hot Springs featuring intriguing exhibits on everyday life in the Old West. Head in the opposite direction, following the Fraser River toward the small community of Tabernash and you’ll see some incredible views of the peaks of the Continental Divide.

Winter Park

If it’s a snow activity, you can do it here. The skiing is diverse enough to please beginners and experts. Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center and Devil’s Thumb Ranch offer plenty of trails and amenities for cross-country skiers and snowshoers and the sledding in nearby Fraser is screamingly good.

Sleigh and hayrides are also part of the local winter scene. Or how about a dogsled ride? Visit the Cozens Ranch Museum just north of Winter Park, the site of a stage stop and post office from the 1870s.

Be sure to check out the room commemorating Doc Suzie, the first female doctor in the area.

39km

Kremmling

If you’re on the hunt for real Colorado adventure, look no further than Kremmling – a western wilderness filled with breathtaking scenery, roaring rapids, and inviting expanses of unspoiled terrain where the wild life vastly outnumbers the human population.

Hot Sulphur Springs

Rich with history and truly unique natural attractions make Hot Sulphur Springs the perfect place to relax and unwind. Hike and camp on untouched terrain, catch the big one while you fish the Gold Medal Waters, or take a soak in the healing waters of the natural hot springs.
