Overview

Located just a 3-minute walk from Gora station, Sundance Resort Hakone Gora offers accommodation just 500 metres from Hakone Gora Park. This French-style park features fountains, rose gardens, two greenhouses, and a teahouse. There is also a craft house where you can try your hand at glass blowing and pottery. Hakone has hot springs, world-class art museums and breathtaking mountain scenery thanks to Mt. Fuji and Ashino-ko (Lake Ashi). One of the more newly developed areas of Hakone, Gora was nothing more than a barren wasteland filled with rocks until the beginning of the 1900s. Following the discovery of a hot spring and the construction of a railway, the area developed into a famous hot spring town. Hakone has a temperate climate with warm summers and cold winters. The annual mean temperature is 9°C, with an average maximum of 21°C in summer & an average minimum of -2°C in winter.
