They take shape amid the everyday – on the subway, in the back of a taxi, when you’re eating lunch at your desk.
You look out the window and you start thinking.
The endless streams of cars crawling across the asphalt, the pale haze of smog hanging over the horizon, crowds of office workers and shoppers and tourists mingling in the shadow of towering skyscrapers …
It’s not exactly what you imagined your life would look like. Every day is cyclical, an endless rat-race that you can’t ever quite seem to get on top of. Your workload always seems to be increasing, even when you stay back late to finish those urgent tasks that always come through at the last minute.
You finish the week drained, completely stripped of energy. Your partner’s the same. Neither of you have the energy for romance, and weekends are spent preparing for the next five days.
Your children barely see you, and sometimes you wonder if they’re growing up as strangers, propelled away by a lack of shared experiences. You want them to grow up with memories everyone can laugh about at family gatherings, not lonely spaces Mom and Dad should have filled.
The work wouldn’t be so bad if there was something to look forward to. A light at the end of all those long days. A holiday. A chance to reconnect with life, with your family.
So you start imagining, visualising something different.
You picture somewhere – a beach, white sand and transparent ocean. Or maybe a mountain, painted white by fresh snowfall. Or hotel luxury, tapas and hand-crafted cocktails delivered to you as you relax beside a giant pool.
That’s your dream. That’s the place you want to go to spend time with your family, to create memories, to really live.
And you know there’s plenty of destinations just like that around the world.
But they cost money to get to, and even more money to stay at. Airlines are expensive, but, between the kids, you and your partner, hotels are what really add up.
Right now, your holidays have a lifespan, and it’s very, very short.
That’s where your fantasy stops. You look away from the window, back down at your phone or your lunch or the shoes of the person sitting across from you on the train.
You can’t justify spending your savings on annual holidays. Your travel budget’s gone the minute you earn it, set aside for short visits to your extended family.
So you give up on the dream. Life goes on. You keep wishing, hoping, envisioning, but that’s as far as it ever goes.
Until you read this.
Because this is where the dream catches fire.
This is where you realise that amazing holidays are within your reach.
This is where you take the first steps towards those moments where adventure and family and the unknown collide to give you something you’ll never be able to book or buy tickets for – memories.
This is Club Wyndham Asia.
What is Club Wyndham Asia?
Sometimes, life gets in the way of having the holiday you dreamed about. That’s why we created Club Wyndham Asia.
It’s a creative holiday solution designed for people just like you.
People who wish they saw their families more than their co-workers.
People who love the excitement of a new horizon.
People who know that memories matter more than overtime.
‘Innovative’ is in the name, and it’s at the heart of how Club Wyndham Asia operates.
You shouldn’t feel constrained by costs, chained to a specific time of year or bored by a lack of choice.
You should have freedom – the freedom to live your holiday dream, the way you imagined it, without compromise or regret.
Instead of paying expensive hotel fees every time you go on holiday, or being limited to a certain week at a certain resort with traditional timeshare ownership, Club Wyndham Asia lets Members use Points to book accommodation through one of five resort networks – Club Wyndham Asia, Greenland Kangyang, Club Wyndham Asia, Club Wyndham South Pacific and WorldMark, The Club.
Members get access to hundreds of different resorts across the world, including properties in China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, the United States, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Europe.
The world is a big place, and you deserve to be able to explore all of it.
It’s also important that you can travel when it’s convenient for you – between your job, your partner’s, and the kids, getting time off together isn’t easy.
That’s why we’ve implemented a flexible Points system that can be used to book any day, any time of the year. Points are Club Wyndham Asia’s in-Club currency: you’ll receive the number of Points you signed up for once a year, which you can use to pay for resort accommodation.
As long as there’s availability at your chosen resort and you have enough Points on hand, you can book whenever you like – a two-day getaway to visit your in-laws, or a two-week vacation where you do nothing but relax by the beach.
Best of all, you’ll never have to pay for a hotel room again, and the tens of thousands of dollars you would have wasted on a few nights of accommodation stays in your pocket instead.
We’ve also innovated by creating Flexi-Levies – our answer to life’s uncertainties.
Most holiday clubs ask their members to pay annual levies, which are a fixed fee that go towards maintaining club resorts, paying staff, and providing guests with the best travel experience possible.
Regardless of how often you travel, how many Points you use, or where you go, traditional timeshare will always charge you a fixed-fee annual levy.
It doesn’t seem fair, does it? Sometimes, work or personal circumstances mean we can’t go on holidays (even when we want to), and being forced to pay hundreds of dollars for a service we aren’t using makes life even harder.
Club Wyndham Asia isn’t traditional holiday club. We think you should only pay levies when you’re actually travelling, and that’s where Flexi-Levies come in.
If, for whatever reason, you can’t travel one year, you can give the Points you would have received that year back to the Club. We’ll then waive your levies for the next twelve months, meaning you don’t need to pay a cent.
Travel where you like.
Travel when you like.
And do it without wasting money.
That’s Club Wyndham Asia.
How You Can Holiday
Now you know where you can go, think back to your dream holiday. We talked about it earlier. It’s the one you thought you’d never be able to take – until you read this article.
How long do you want that holiday to last? A week? Two weeks? Three?
Let’s say you can take that holiday. Your vacation fund is fully stocked. You’ve tied up all your essential tasks at work, your partner has had their leave approved, and the kids are on school break. You’re an Club Wyndham Asia Member, and you’ve used some of your points to book two rooms with fantastic views.
Plane tickets are sorted. You’ve put together a great itinerary. You fly out, the kids uploading selfies to their LINE Stories, your partner flicking through the on-flight travel magazine.
The seatbelt light goes dark. You adjust your seat, and you can almost feel the stress – the endless demands of work, the constant traffic, the unending cycle of drive-work-drive-home-sleep – falling away, left behind on the tarmac of the runway.
This is your time. Your family’s time. This isn’t a break, a chance to get away from life. This is life.
Fast-forward a few weeks. You’re back home. Your holiday was incredible – everything you thought it would be. You made some amazing memories with your family. You’re feeling reinvigorated, ready to tackle another twelve months of work.
But here’s the thing: you still have Club Wyndham Asia Points left over. And, thanks to the money you saved on hotel costs, you can afford more holidays. The only thing stopping you from booking another trip is getting time off.
In situations like this, you need to get innovative. Think of short breaks like weekends and public holidays, and use your Points to book a two-night stay somewhere romantic (without the kids, of course), or visit extended family members who don’t live in the same city as you.
Becoming an Club Wyndham Asia Member isn’t just about one great holiday a year.
It’s about more travel, more experiences, more often – and less accommodation costs than ever before. It’s about making amazing memories, and then making more.
It’s about visiting loved ones you previously couldn’t afford to, and telling them about where you’ve been.
It’s about time spent together instead of apart.
Because holidays shouldn’t just be something you dream about. They should be something you live.
Meet Kevin
If you’ve read this far, you already know the importance of family. You know that making memories together matters. So you’re probably asking yourself, “why should I do it through Club Wyndham Asia?”
Maybe the idea of exploring dozens of the world’s most stunning locations whenever you like isn’t enough. Maybe holiday club seems like too much of a commitment. Too much of an upfront cost. Wouldn’t it be easier just to book a hotel when you want to go travel?
If you’re thinking something along those lines, we’d like to introduce you to Kevin.
Kevin is around your age. He’s worked in a corporate role for most of his life. Lots of different titles, a few different companies, but he doesn’t love what he does. The only reason he’s still in the industry is because he wants to provide for his partner, Fiona, and his two kids, David and Elise. Fiona works too, but, between living expenses and school fees, there never seems to be enough money to take the holidays they want to.
Kevin’s day is constant movement – from work to the office, from one task to another, from the dinner table to the bedroom. He never stops. There’s no time to relax, to connect. He wants David and Elise to grow up with memories of him, of the time they spend together, instead of vague recollections of Dad coming home just as they’re going to bed.
So he’s decided to invest in becoming a member of Club Wyndham Asia. You read that right – invest. At a Club Wyndham Asia presentation, he learned that the Club will last until 2040; at that time, Members can vote to either continue Club Wyndham Asia for the next 20 years, or distribute the Club’s assets among themselves.
Kevin’s job involves land leasing and development, so he knows that property prices are forecasted to rise across Asia in the coming decades, particularly in major cities like Shanghai. For him, the choice seems simple – waste forty, sixty, eighty thousand dollars across his lifetime by staying at hotels with his family, or invest ten thousand dollars to enjoy holidays until at least 2040. And, when Club Wyndham Asia term winds up, Kevin knows he’ll get his share of the Club’s assets returned to him. After all, if he can spend amazing holidays with his kids every year and get returns on his investment while doing so, why wouldn’t he?
But, like you, Kevin is smart. He always does research before he invests money in something, and he’s heard some stories about traditional timeshare that he doesn’t like. He’s heard that many timeshare clubs charge their members annual levies, and he’s not sure that he wants to pay money every year even if he can’t take his family on holiday for some reason.
Luckily, Club Wyndham Asia isn’t traditional holiday club. Remember those Flexi-Levies we talked about earlier? Kevin read about them too, and he loves the idea. Maybe he and Fiona can’t get time off one year. Maybe, in a few years, the kids will want to go backpacking by themselves. No-one can see the future, but Flexi-Levies means that Kevin will never have to pay a cent if he and his family can’t travel.
So Kevin has made up his mind. He’s going to become an Club Wyndham Asia Member. He’s tired of watching life pass by. He’s going to chase his dream holiday, and he knows that joining Club Wyndham Asia is the best way to do it.
Kevin isn’t real, but his story is.
His story is the story of someone who knows real value when he sees it.
His story is the story of someone who’s decided to take back their holidays.
His story could be your story.
Chase Your Dream
Holidays start as a dream, but they need the right circumstances to become a reality.
You can’t predict life. You don’t know where you’ll be in five years’ time. You don’t know where your children will be.
And that’s okay. It’s okay to not always have a plan. It’s okay to take things as they come.
But that’s exactly why flexibility is so important. That’s why innovation is essential. After all, the best holidays aren’t the ones we plan, but the ones that we discover together.
And no matter where you are in the world, no matter what your future looks like, the one thing you’ll always carry with you are your memories.
What are you waiting for? Your dream is out there, somewhere beyond the horizon.
So go chase it.
