The Great Australia Holiday

Being a member of Club Wyndham Asia gives us the opportunity to travel the world. Last year my wife and I went to Australia with my in-laws. It was our first time in Melbourne and second time in Sydney. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff of Club Wyndham Melbourne. The hotel is very cozy, spacious and have a very inviting pool. We were such in awe of the city of Melbourne, we went to a lot of tourist spots but the Great Road tour was definitely the highlight of our stay there. And as a tennis fan, seeing the Rod Laver Arena in person was such a treat. We flew to Sydney and stayed there for a couple of days and as usual Club Wyndham Sydney gave us comfort by easy check in and the staff were very accommodating. It was also a luxury having the hotel strategically located near the train stations, bars and resto not to mention a couple of blocks away from Hyde’s Park where you can relax and just enjoy your time. Of course, no one will get tired of seeing the Sydney opera house and the Harbour bridge over and over again, right? And we highly recommend a day tour at the the Blue Mountains when you visit Sydney.

Very memorable vacation indeed and being a member of the Club will definitely give you this chance to travel, enjoy and see other places. Thank you Club Wyndham Asia. Cheers for more travel in the future.

We made the right choice!

I’ve been to Bali for many times for the last 15 years. First time- experience staying in Wyndham Dreamland Resort Bali. We opt for Villa. We made the right choice, such a beautiful resort with great facilities. It’s a great place just laying around doing nothing … just relaxing…. Looking forward for my next holiday and for sure to check in Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali.

Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach

Every year without fail we have a family outing somewhere, the whole family Mom, dad, brother, sis in law, nephew & his fiancé and my son. This time we decided to go Tasmania as we’ve never been there before. So we started planning early as it was a big group. We needed a few rooms if we stayed in a hotel or a big house or a resort. So I realised that since I became a member with Club Wyndham Asia, I can utilise the rooms at this resorts. They have very nice self contained Chalets with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a hall and a dining room. We needed 2 chalets hence, this resort was perfect. We like resorts with a full working kitchen as we all love to cook. So we will have breakfast in our resort before we start out the day touring around Tasmania. There were 2 nights we even cooked dinner as we got some nice fish and steaks at Wollys. Its a great family time for all of us as can have dinner together and wines. We really loved the resort so much as its very comfortable, all the amenities are there like our own home, even the beds are heated. Wow!

The overall experience at the resort was great. The receptionist were all helpful and the other amenities like the pool and sauna was fantastic. My whole family was so happy and really enjoyed our stay at Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach. I would recommend this resort to everyone going to Tasmania as its a fantastic place -5 Stars and its also located near the airport and not far from the city, a short walk from the sea and very peaceful. Will plan the next family holiday in a Club Wyndham Asia resort for sure. So glad I joined the Club.

Cleaning and Enhanced Safety Protocols

Club Wyndham has partnered with cleaning industry experts to develop industry-leading health and cleanliness protocols. These include the use of enhanced disinfectants to clean high-traffic areas, greater access to hand sanitiser, redesigned common areas and tighter housekeeping procedures.

Check-in and check-out

  • Suite keys are thoroughly sanitised and disinfected before they are given to members

Cleaning products

  • Enhanced disinfectants will be used in all cleaning

Public areas

  • Enhanced disinfectants will be frequently used to cleanse high touch areas across the resort, including touchscreens, handles and hand railings
  • Common areas will be rearranged so that furniture placement reflects social distancing standards
  • Self-service buffets will be removed at restaurants and cafés
  • Sanitising stations and disinfectant wipes will be placed strategically in common spaces for guests to use
  • Resort staff will have access to personal protective equipment and will be required to wear it if it is a local requirement
  • Masks will be available for members on request

Housekeeping

  • Housekeeping staff will be assigned a partner and the pair will work together all day to minimise contact between different people
  • They will conduct a visual inspection of rooms first, remove all dirty material including linens and sheets, then work through room zones in a specific order
  • Protective gloves and cloths will be changed as they move from zone to zone
  • Surfaces will be cleaned with enhanced disinfectants

Multi-Coloured Stir Fry with Turmeric-Coconut Sauce

Looking for a healthy meal that has minimal clean-up?  Try this delicious chicken and vegetable stir fry with a turmeric coconut sauce. 

It’s loaded with essential vitamins and minerals to support your children’s immune systems, and is easy enough to cook after a day of exploring a new destination.         

Ingredients:

  • 2 heads of broccoli
  • ½ red cabbage, finely sliced
  • 2 bok choy, roughly sliced
  • 2 pak choy, roughly sliced
  • 1 red capsicum, finely sliced
  • 1 yellow capsicum, finely sliced
  • 8 red radishes, finely sliced
  • 500 grams of chicken breast
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 3 tablespoons of turmeric
  • 4 cups of coconut cream
  • ¼ cup of light soy sauce
  • Instant noodles (Indomie Mi Goreng noodles work well)

Equipment:

  • Frying pan
  • Chef’s knife
  • Tenderiser (optional)
  • 2 mixing bowls
  • Spoon
  • Kettle
  • Saucepan or large microwavable container

Time: 40 minutes (including preparation)

Serves: 4

Instructions:

  1. Slice the chicken breast into thin strips and then tenderise them. This will help break down the fibres, allowing the strips to absorb more marinade and cook faster. 
  2. Add roughly ¼ cup of soy sauce, ¼ cup of olive oil and ½ cup of water into the mixing bowl, along with a ¼ teaspoon of pepper and a ½ teaspoon of salt. Mix thoroughly, but don’t worry if the oil and water don’t combine (they won’t).  There should be enough marinade to fully submerge the chicken strips.
  3. Add the chicken strips into the bowl. The marinade should completely cover them.
  4. Leave the pieces to soak.
  5. Start cutting cut up the vegetables.
  6. Begin with the broccoli and red cabbage – as soon as they’re cut, put them straight into the frying pan. These two vegetables take longer to cook than the others in this recipe, so it’s important to start cooking them first.
  7. Add a healthy drizzle of olive oil to the pan.
  8. Cut up and add the capsicum and radishes.
  9. Add a healthy drizzle of olive oil to the pan.
  10. Cut up and add the pak choy and bok choy.
  11. Add a healthy drizzle of olive oil to the pan.
  12. Let the vegetables cook on medium/medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. Stir frequently, and turn down the heat if they start to sear or burn.
  13. Add the marinated chicken pieces to the frying pan.
  14. Mix the turmeric and coconut cream together in a bowl, and pour into the pan.
  15. Cook for roughly 10 more minutes, stirring frequently.
  16. At this point, the chicken pieces should be cooked through and the vegetables should be soft.
  17. Turn the frying pan down to a low heat.
  18. Boil a kettle of water, and add four packets of instant noodles to the saucepan or microwave container.
  19. Cover them with boiling water from the kettle, then cover the saucepan/container with a lid for about 5 minutes.
  20. When the noodles are sufficiently cooked, drain the water and turn the frying pan off. Optional: you can add the instant noodle flavourings to your noodles for extra flavour.
  21. Your meal is ready to eat! Mix the stir fry and noodles and then plate up.  

Chef’s Notes:

  • If you, your partner or your children suffer from gluten intolerances, replace the noodles with rice.
  • If your kids prefer their vegetables soft, you can steam the broccoli separately and then add it in at Step 13.
  • It’s often easier to cook the chicken in a separate frying pan, and then add it to the stir fry once’s it’s fully cooked. This allows for better control over the cooking process.  If you do this, make sure to cook the pieces in some of the turmeric-coconut sauce so it stays moist.
  • Turmeric stains! Don’t wear good clothes while cooking.
  • You can add virtually any vegetable to this stir fry – kale, carrots, silverbeet and onions all work well.

How to Get the Kids Involved:

  • Let your kids mix the turmeric-coconut sauce, drizzle the olive oil and stir the vegetables as they cook. Make sure you keep them away from sharp/hot objects, like knives, the lids from the coconut cream cans, hot plates and boiling water.
  • If you have a family of fussy eaters, challenge your little ones to eat vegetables of different colours. Ask them to find a green vegetable, then a yellow one, then a red one, and so on.  This will keep them from remembering that they hate the taste of veggies!     

Holidays Start As a Dream

They take shape amid the everyday – on the subway, in the back of a taxi, when you’re eating lunch at your desk.

You look out the window and you start thinking. 

The endless streams of cars crawling across the asphalt, the pale haze of smog hanging over the horizon, crowds of office workers and shoppers and tourists mingling in the shadow of towering skyscrapers …

It’s not exactly what you imagined your life would look like.  Every day is cyclical, an endless rat-race that you can’t ever quite seem to get on top of.  Your workload always seems to be increasing, even when you stay back late to finish those urgent tasks that always come through at the last minute. 

You finish the week drained, completely stripped of energy.  Your partner’s the same.  Neither of you have the energy for romance, and weekends are spent preparing for the next five days. 

Your children barely see you, and sometimes you wonder if they’re growing up as strangers, propelled away by a lack of shared experiences.  You want them to grow up with memories everyone can laugh about at family gatherings, not lonely spaces Mom and Dad should have filled.  

The work wouldn’t be so bad if there was something to look forward to.  A light at the end of all those long days.  A holiday.  A chance to reconnect with life, with your family.

As long as there’s availability at your chosen resort and you have enough Points on hand, you can book whenever you like – a two-day getaway to visit your in-laws, or a two-week vacation where you do nothing but relax by the beach.

Best of all, you’ll never have to pay for a hotel room again, and the tens of thousands of dollars you would have wasted on a few nights of accommodation stays in your pocket instead. 

We’ve also innovated by creating Flexi-Levies – our answer to life’s uncertainties.

Most holiday clubs ask their members to pay annual levies, which are a fixed fee that go towards maintaining club resorts, paying staff, and providing guests with the best travel experience possible. 

Regardless of how often you travel, how many Points you use, or where you go, traditional timeshare will always charge you a fixed-fee annual levy.

How You Can Holiday

Kevin is around your age.  He’s worked in a corporate role for most of his life.  Lots of different titles, a few different companies, but he doesn’t love what he does.  The only reason he’s still in the industry is because he wants to provide for his partner, Fiona, and his two kids, David and Elise.  Fiona works too, but, between living expenses and school fees, there never seems to be enough money to take the holidays they want to.        

Kevin’s day is constant movement – from work to the office, from one task to another, from the dinner table to the bedroom.  He never stops.  There’s no time to relax, to connect.  He wants David and Elise to grow up with memories of him, of the time they spend together, instead of vague recollections of Dad coming home just as they’re going to bed.

So he’s decided to invest in becoming a member of Club Wyndham Asia.  You read that right – invest.  At a Club Wyndham Asia presentation, he learned that the Club will last until 2040; at that time, Members can vote to either continue Club Wyndham Asia for the next 20 years, or distribute the Club’s assets among themselves.

Kevin’s job involves land leasing and development, so he knows that property prices are forecasted to rise across Asia in the coming decades, particularly in major cities like Shanghai.  For him, the choice seems simple – waste forty, sixty, eighty thousand dollars across his lifetime by staying at hotels with his family, or invest ten thousand dollars to enjoy holidays until at least 2040.  And, when Club Wyndham Asia term winds up, Kevin knows he’ll get his share of the Club’s assets returned to him.  After all, if he can spend amazing holidays with his kids every year and get returns on his investment while doing so, why wouldn’t he?

But, like you, Kevin is smart.  He always does research before he invests money in something, and he’s heard some stories about traditional timeshare that he doesn’t like.  He’s heard that many timeshare clubs charge their members annual levies, and he’s not sure that he wants to pay money every year even if he can’t take his family on holiday for some reason.

Luckily, Club Wyndham Asia isn’t traditional holiday club.  Remember those Flexi-Levies we talked about earlier?  Kevin read about them too, and he loves the idea.  Maybe he and Fiona can’t get time off one year.  Maybe, in a few years, the kids will want to go backpacking by themselves.  No-one can see the future, but Flexi-Levies means that Kevin will never have to pay a cent if he and his family can’t travel.

So Kevin has made up his mind.  He’s going to become an Club Wyndham Asia Member.  He’s tired of watching life pass by.  He’s going to chase his dream holiday, and he knows that joining Club Wyndham Asia is the best way to do it.

Kevin isn’t real, but his story is. 

His story is the story of someone who knows real value when he sees it. 

His story is the story of someone who’s decided to take back their holidays. 

His story could be your story.

Chase Your Dream         

Holidays start as a dream, but they need the right circumstances to become a reality.

You can’t predict life.  You don’t know where you’ll be in five years’ time.  You don’t know where your children will be. 

And that’s okay.  It’s okay to not always have a plan.  It’s okay to take things as they come. 

But that’s exactly why flexibility is so important.  That’s why innovation is essential.  After all, the best holidays aren’t the ones we plan, but the ones that we discover together.

And no matter where you are in the world, no matter what your future looks like, the one thing you’ll always carry with you are your memories.

What are you waiting for?  Your dream is out there, somewhere beyond the horizon. 

So go chase it.                              

Thailand Will Always Have A Place in our Hearts

My wife and I touched down in Phuket from Hatyai back in December 2019. We were definitely looking forward to Phuket for their beaches and the colourful night life, but at the top of our mind we are staying at the luxurious Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay, and we’ve got the Private Pool Villa!

Upon arriving at the villa, we can’t help but be amazed by the surroundings. Tranquil, peaceful and very classy! We were greeted with smiles from front to end as we walked into the reception area. Checking in was quick and easy, and off we went into our villa!

The villa is catered for 4 pax so while waiting for our 2 friends to arrive the next day, me and my wife gets the whole villa to ourselves for the first night! We spent a total of 4 nights in this beautiful villa.

Our friends arrive the next day and for dinner, we went to this beautiful restaurant (can’t remember the name as it was recommended by our friend) by the beach. It was peaceful and quiet only to be accompanied by the sound of the waves. The food was top class too!

Visiting Phuket will not be complete without going to the famous “James Bond Island”

Here we took a tour where we went for a canoeing excursion into the caves and waters around the island.

It was one of the best experiences as the boat guide spoke good English, while manoeuvring us through these caves which are at least thousands of years old.

Of course in Phuket, the food in general suits our taste buds really well. Thailand will always have a place in our hearts. Most importantly, thank you Club Wyndham Asia for giving us a chance to visit this wonderful island.

Hopefully we can start travelling soon and Club Wyndham Asia is the “go to” place to plan.

Family Holiday in Melbourne

Spent a wonderful week in Melbourne with my family of 9 including 3 children. The accommodation is centrally located in the heart of town and more importantly a short walk to Queen Victoria Market (an ideal place to park our vehicle overnight). It is never easy to plan accommodation for such a big travel group, especially with children on board. However, I managed to secure huge apartments which are near to one another (on the same level) and this vicinity helps to ease much on my logistics. We all had fun in Melbourne as well as a 2 nights in Philip Island for Penguins watching. The children love it!

Club Wyndham Kirra Beach Holiday

I must say that that was an absolutely awesome family holiday,we were in the Gold Coast area for the SLS Australian Pool Rescue Championships,being Club Wyndham Asia members we thought “why not look for a Wyndham here in Oz”.
My family and I have loved visiting Wyndham resorts around the world and we were surprised to find a beautiful resort at home.
We took the opportunity to race in the champs and spend some fun time visiting movie world, the escape hut (awesome), enjoyed some waves at Kirra, hired kayaks on the tweed and my wife and teen daughters maximizing their shopping opportunities, we had fantastic weather, amazing surf conditions and took the time to relax with a local coffee and gelato.
Local shops within walking distance provide a opportunity for an early morning coffee breakfast and news paper in the morning sun while the kids sleep.
Our apartment was quite spacious and room enough for us all to have our own space (good for a dad with teenage daughters).
If you are looking for a great home base to explore the tweed or the Gold Coast you will do well to find a more central resort, walking distance to some of the gold coasts best shopping including the massive “Kirra Surf”surf shop and a short drive to numerous surf outlets and mega factory outlet centres.
If you’re there for the water, you will do well to find better surf spots on the north east coast of Australia.
If you’re in the golds for the night life, you are a short cab from all the night life you can handle in the Gold Coast strip.
If you’re looking to hit the coast, take a look at Club Wyndham Kirra Beach, you will not be disappointed.
